To begin again

It’s the beginning of winter in France and we're just a few hours away from 2019! In some time zones folks are already popping open bottles to welcome the new solar year. I’m looking forward to a year of late-night singing and dancing, community potlucks and organizing. The longest night in the northern hemisphere could correspond to the new moon phase but this year it happened with the full moon, with the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere. I did a moon class with Chani Nicholas where she explains that the new moon is like a seed and the full moon is like the flower opening. So we can look back at what we planted a year ago, how it blossoms and breaks down into a seed again. What are we planting now? What is opening? The spiritual theme of the past year for me : breaking out of mental schemas and illusions. Going into the next year I embrace these lessons of letting go, paradox, knowing how to move and admit that I’m wrong when I’ve made harmful choices or been following a path that wasn’t my own. I trust others and myself more and feel more gratitude.

All of this seems relevant to this blog because I started it in March but didn’t really feel like it sounded like me. This is a better moment to begin again. I’m planning on sharing tarot spreads and maybe some astrology notes, ritual recipes and inspiration, poetry and music later on. For 2019 I want to plant the seeds of being truly present, and open to anything happening. I think this is the logical next step from last year, a cycle I keep coming back to. I want to appreciate the beauty of every person and orient my actions and perceptions around consent and intersubjectivity. This was a goal for me in 2018 too, but there’s always room to improve. Blessings for the newest solar year to date and thank you for reading! Looking forward to putting up new content soon.
